I've been playing bass since I was about fifteen and professionally for about twenty years.
I grew up in Gävle, Sweden, where I lived until I was 16. After studying music in Uppsala for 3 years I moved to Stockholm where I've lived since.
Throughout the years I've had the fortune to tour all over the world and meet a lot of great musicians and others. I've played at venues like Royal Albert Hall (London), Hollywood Bowl (LA),
Olympiahalle (Munich) etc. And I've had the honour to play with some of the biggest names in Sweden like Benny Andersson of ABBA, Mats Ronander, Mikael Rickfors, Louise Hoffsten, Thorsten Flinck etc.
But now it's time for my own project, ME5!
A major turning point for me musically was in the summer of 2011 when I went to London to see Tedeschi Trucks Band.
The whole band, and especially Oteil Burbridge their amazing bassplayer at the time, totally blew me away! The way they really played their hearts out, improvising without overplaying, really listening and paying attention to what the others were playing.
For me, it was such a wake up call. It really changed the way I play and approach music.
No matter what gig I do and what music I play, I really try to play it. Not just play it right but really mean what I play.
I've heard lots of great musicians say that over the years but it took me until my late 30's to really understand it.
For me, TTB and Oteil made me realize what music is really about.
